Dr. Whitehead

Always a New Yorker, Dr. Abbie landed in California via the army. She enjoyed ten years as a military veterinarian, including a brief stint as 'Socks' Clinton's vet. She spent about five years doing shelter medicine, and has been at Altimira part time since early 2010. She thinks being a veterinarian is the best job in the world, and enjoys working with pets and their people to help the furkids have the longest, happiest life possible with lots of slurpy kisses and purr biscuits.

Her spare time is filled with riding her Mustang with her daughter, Olivia, and gardening with California native plants.

Dr. Abbie has been married to her fabulous husband for a decade and a half and lives in Fairfield with her daughter, a Maltese, a three-legged cat, a rabbit, a mouse and two goldfish. The horses live in Davis. Actually, she lives on the freeway, she just sleeps in Fairfield.
